Summer Fun

Nick and I have been having a fun summer and I'm sad to see it is coming to an end. As much as I enjoy the changing seasons, summer is by far my favorite. Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately.

Going Away BBQ for one of my best friends, Rachel. Her husband got into medical school in Arizona and so they are leaving us for a while. I'm so sad to see them go, but I'm sure they'll have a blast!

Tired

I love the weekends. I look forward to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all week long. I love being able to sleep in and just have a couple days to relax and do whatever. I love being outside during the middle of the day and not cooped up at work.

Work has been super busy lately and I've been having to put in LONG LONG days... just ask Nick. It's hard because I feel like I don't have time for anything other than coming home at night, eating dinner (which Nick usually makes, what a great husband), taking Franklin for a late night walk, and then falling into bed because I'm exhausted.

You can imagine how much I crave the weekends. But ever since we bought a home the weekends haven't been exactly nice to me. Saturdays have been spent doing yard work, cleaning toilets, vaccuming carpets, running errands, helping with yard sales, etc... and Sundays we have to wake up at the crack of dawn to make it to 9am church (okay maybe not the crack of dawn, but it sure does feel like it sometimes).

Lets just say.... I'm tired. But I'm still thankful for all of those things that are making me tired. I'm thankful for having my crazy job, especially when hundreds of people just got layed off from my company. I'm thankful for owning a home in a good neighborhood. I'm thankful for a little puppy that I love so much. But more than anything, I'm thankful for a supportive husband who is so patient with me.

I love you Nick. Thanks for being you.

The newest addition to our family...

Meet Franklin!

Ever since Nick and I got married he has been dying to get a dog. However, living in the basement apartment of someone Else's home doesn't exactly give you that option. So pretty much the second we moved into our new home we were searching on KSL for a pup (we were looking before we moved but it was just wishful thinking at that point). We'd find cute puppies but nothing we were exactly sold on.

About a week after we moved in I was talking to my dad and he told me that his sister's dog just had puppies. They were a mix between Red and Blue Heelers which was exactly what we were looking for! And the best part is that she was GIVING them away. So we jumped in the car and headed up to Heber to check them out. When we got up there and started holding them and playing with them, Franklin just sort of captured our hearts. He seemed a lot more relaxed than the other one and a lot more trusting.

So far having a dog has been a mix of emotions. He can be a lot of work and responsibility but I love him to death! How can you not? He is stinkin adorable!

Entering Blogger Land

Nick and I just got married 5 months ago and I was determined not to be like every other newlywed out there and start a blog. I have nothing against blogs in fact I love to look at my friends blogs. I just wasn't sure that if I started one I'd ever update it. Well after much consideration I decided to start a blog for two reasons. 1. I suck at writing in my journal so hopefully this will be a better way for me to "journal" all the adventures that lie ahead. and 2. My in-laws live 2,140 miles away (in beautiful North Carolina) so I thought having a blog would be a good way for them to keep updated on what Nick and I are up to. So... Here goes nothing!
