Flashback

2 years ago, when Nick and I were dating, we took a short trip to his home town of Raleigh, North Carolina. To this day it was one of my most favorite times with Nick. There is something about the excitement of flying with your sweetheart that just makes you feel all giddy inside. Not to mention the fact that Carolina is AMAZINGLY Beautiful and Nick's parents are wonderful. Whenever I want to go to my "happy place" I think back to that trip and I can't help but smile.

Just arriving to Nick's home

One of the First Krispy Kreme's ever

Downtown Raleigh, eating some Southern BBQ

Free Concert Downtown

Over looking downtown Raleigh

Nick's Brother Ben spotted a Copper Head snake on their street and of course had to go mess with it.

Heading out to the Outer Banks!

Nick's awesome parents Kim and Jim. LOVE THEM!

If you can't tell, it's SUPER windy at the top of the Wright brother Monument

Kim managed to snap a picture RIGHT when a gust of wind came up and caught me by surprise!

Driving down the coast of the Outer Banks. This was in Roadanthe. Anyone seen that movie??

Cape Hatteras Light House

Probably the most very Beautiful Beach I've ever seen. This was at the southern tip of the Outer Banks.

The infamous "Bojangles"

I couldn't believe all the trees in NC!! definitely like nothing I'd ever seen before.

Of course Nick had to take me to his favorite place on EARTH! the University of North Carolina's BasketBall Stadium. No one was there so we snuck down onto the court.

Nick was in Heaven!

Flying home... So Sad to leave but had the time of my life!

Summer Update

Summer has gone by so fast so far and we've done a lot of fun things! Here is a quick picture recap of what we've been up to. Unfortunately I'm a slacker and don't have pictures of everything.

Nick Celebrated his 25th Birthday on May 17th. I can't believe he is a Quarter of a Century!! I threw him a birthday dinner at Charlie Chows, one of his favorite restaurants, and invited all of his friends. All together we had about 25-30 people show up! It was so much fun to see everyone and catch up. We have such great friends and Nick truly felt so loved.
Nick requested a Rice Crispy Treat Cake for his Birthday so that's what he got. Easy enough for me! Oh and don't mind the candles. When I went to Walmart they didn't have a 2 or a 5 in a matching set!
I also had a Birthday on July 22nd but mine was much more low key because we were moving that weekend. Nick spoiled me of course and I still had lots of fun!

My work had a flood scare this spring and it was definitely a stressful time for me. We had to come up with an evacuation plan just in case we lost power or the building started to flood. This was the view from outside my window!
We added a new little addition to the family in June. Meet Oliver!! He is such a stinkin cute little guy and I adore him. Franklin and him are best buds.

We had the opportunity to go to Idaho and visit some families that Nick became really close with on his mission and attend one of their kid's baptisms. Nick was so lucky to meet so many great families out there! They are amazing people and now I'm convinced that I want to live in Idaho once Nick is done with School! I LOVED it there. I'm a lame-o and didn't take any pictures until we were heading home. We stoped in Idaho Falls and visited the Shoshone Falls. It was incredible! Probably the biggest water fall I've ever seen.

We Also played in a Co-Ed Softball league with some friends of ours. It was a good time! Gotta love our team name,
"Ball & Chain"

We were able to spend the weekend in Vegas at the beginning of July. It was HOTTER than Heck but we had a blast! It was fun to take a vacation with just the two of us since it doesn't happen very often! We tried out a couple of the buffets but quickly realized that it was NOT worth the money. Holy crap those things are expensive (especially on a holiday weekend)! I think the best place we ate at was Cabo Wabo. SO YUMMY!

Let me just say that Vegas has changed so much from when I used to go every year growing up. It's no longer the family friendly place it used to be. Now It's all about the glitz and glamour!

"The Chandelier"
All I have to say about this place is WOW!

This was in line at the breakfast buffet at our hotel one morning. You had to get there pretty earlier otherwise the food would be gone. You can tell Nick is still trying to wake up.

We went to the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay and that was pretty cool. Definitely one of the cheaper forms of entertainment in Vegas which was right up our alley!
